Well, I'm finally done.  80 cards stamped, 160 ornaments stamped and punched, 160 bows tied and glued, 80 cards assembled, and 80 envelopes stamped, addressed, and ready to go!  I'm finally done with this year's card.

Now that this project is done, I can finish making gift tags, start wrapping presents and maybe even find the time to put up our Christmas tree!  Somewhere in there I also have to finish making 15 favor bags for my aunt to give out to her co-workers.  Oh well, I guess I really don't need that many hours to sleep.

Stampin' Fool

I haven't posted any new projects in awhile, but that's because I've been stampin' up a storm over the past week or so.  I've started on my Christmas cards- have 80 of those to make, gift tags-need lots of those as well, and have been started stamping some small gifts for co-workers.

Over the next couple of days I'll be finishing up my projects and sharing them with you.

Thanksgiving Treats

Now that Halloween is over, many stampers start to turn their attention to Christmas.  I, on the other hand am notorious for putting off working on my Christmas projects until well into the first week of December.

In the meantime, I wanted to share a Thanksgiving project that I made tonight.  If I can get myself organized enough this year, I'll make these little bags for my Thanksgiving dinner guests this year, maybe filling them with chocolate covered espresso beans to counteract the tryptophan from the turkey!

Surprisingly even though this looks elaborate, these were really easy to put together.  From start to finish it took less than 10 minutes to make,

Come See Me This Weekend and Participate in a Free Make-N-Take

This weekend I will be participating in two different events here in the west-side of Cincinnati. 

On Friday evening (10/09) I am a vendor at the St James White Oak Ladies Night Out.  This event is taking the place at St. James Church Hall, 3565 Hubble Road, White Oak from 7 pm - 10:30 pm.  In addition to myself, there will be about 30 other crafters and vendors.  This is a fun event, with free snacks plus beer, pop, and wine for sale.

Then, on Saturday (10/10) I'll have a booth at the College Hill Pumpkin Patch Fall Festival  As in years past, this is an outdoors event (so please pray for nice weather!) held at Town Hall, located at the corner of Larch and Belmont Avenues.  The festival is from 10:00 am- 4 pm.  Look for fall-themed activities including the annual scarecrow competition, games and all-day entertainment (storytelling, singing and professional music. Children's Package: pony rides, petting zoo, activities, games, treat bag, mini-pumpkin (admission $5); pony ride only ($2). In addition to the scarecrow contest, supplies are available to take home to make your own. Farmers' market: pumpkins, gourds, mums, perennials, fresh fruit & produce, homey, cider and more. Crafters: pottery, fiber art, jewelry, toys, etc. 

At both events you will have the opportunity to participate in a FREE Make-N-Take, creating this fun bookmark using From the Crypt.

Sweet Centers Halloween Bouquet

The days seem to keep getting shorter and the night air a bit cooler.  Fall is almost here.  And with fall comes Halloween.  Now I know that not everyone "celebrates" Halloween, but I do.  I enjoy making Halloween cards for family and friends (maybe because I'll use most any excuse to send a hand stamped card to brighten someone's day!).  I also LOVE making little Halloween treats- I really miss making these for class treats for my kids, but for some reason it's just not cool for a teen-aged boy to take treats to high school to share with the guys- go figure!

Any way, tonight's project is a fun little one that I create with the new Sweet Centers stamp set and Sweet Treats Cup (now available in the Holiday Mini Catalog!)  This project is also my entry in this month's So Shelli Contest.  I realize that no matter how great this project might be, my chances of winning are probably small since I just won a few months ago, but it doesn't hurt a girl to try again!

So, with no further adu here is my Sweet Centers Halloween Bouquet...

Supplies Used:

Sweet Centers and Batty For You stamp sets.

Lovely Lilac, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Whisper White card stock.

Basic Black and Old Olive classic ink

Sweet Treat Cups, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, Pennant Die (for the EEK scallop), Crimper, Old Olive 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, and Crystal Effects (for adhering the elements to the sticks)

Non-Stampin' Up: Halloween M&M (don't the colors match so well) wooden skewers, small bucket, and floral foam.

One of the things I would really like to point out about this project is the custom raffia- To make some filler to cover my floral foam, I simply cut really thin strips of card stock, ran them through my crimper, then balled them up in my hand.  This made perfectly matching raffia for the project.

The only thing I wish I could have also done, was to add one of the cute Rub Ons from the Spooky Treats Rub Ons, but I don't have any left!

Making Merry at the Cincinnati Regionals

This past Saturday I sent an entire day stamping with other demonstrators at the Stampin' Regional Seminar here in Cincinnati!  I had a blast.  I got a ton of great swaps that I can't wait to share with you (all I need to do is find the time to photograph 40 card fronts and 20 3D items!)  For those of you who are not Stampin' Up! Demonstrators, a Regional Seminar is an all day training and stamping seminar feature business building tips, super workshop ideas (which I can't wait to show you at your next workshop), new techniques, and make-n-takes featuring a pre-selected stamp set. 

The highlight for me, however, was meeting and getting my picture taken with Shelli Gardner, the co-founder and rock star of Stampin' Up!  Over the years I have been to two national conventions and several regional seminars, some where Shelli attended and others where she didn't.  However, I have never had the opportunity to actually meet her in person.  I can honestly say that she is such a sweet and caring woman.

After attending this seminar I am so pumped and ready to really rejuvenate my Stampin' Up! business.  I can working on new classes and have created several new workshop templates that I am looking forward to sharing.  One of the projects I'm looking forward to demonstrating for you at your next workshop is this one ....

Movin' On Out

Wow, next week is another big milestone in our house.  Next week my oldest son is moving out of house and into his first apartment.  He doesn't seem nervous at all.  His dad and I are nervous enough for all 3 of us.  While it is certainly time- he's almost 24, we still worry that he doesn't know what he's getting into, that he won't be able to afford his expenses, and the list goes on.  Rationally I know that my son is ready for this step into independence and adulthood and I'm not worried about the empty nest, but as a mother I'm still a bit worried about my little bird leaving the nest.

In addition to practically furnishing the apartment with everything from our house (whatever happened to hitting Goodwill and garage sales to furnish your first apartment?) I'm making a set of New Address Cards for his to send out to friends and family- well probably just family because I'm sure that he'll IM, text, Facebook and/or Twitter his friends about the move and his new contact information!

Anyway, this is my way of keeping busy and help with the move in my own special way.
