Instructions

1. Fold Bashful Blue card stock (8-1/2" x 8-1/2") in half to create triangle. Fold front of triangle down so that tip of flap is approximately 1/2" from bottom edge. Fold right side of triangle in so that top edge of side is even with the top edge of flap. Repeat with left side. Pull right and left sides back and pull flap up, then fold sides in and fold flap over.
2. Stamp dots image repeatedly in VersaMark ink on inside of pouch. Wrap Chocolate Chip 5/8" grosgrain ribbon around pouch and adhere.
3. Round corners of Pretty in Pink card stock (3" x 2") using 3/16" Corner Rounder punch. Adhere Old Olive card stock (3" x 1/4") to Pretty in Pink card stock.
4. Stamp “A little yummy for your tummy” in Chocolate Chip ink on Whisper White card stock. Cut out image. Stamp heart image in Rose Red ink on Rose Red card stock. Cut out heart and adhere to yummy piece. Adhere to Pretty in Pink card stock using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Adhere entire piece to Bashful Blue pouch using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
5. Tie Chocolate Chip 5/8" grosgrain ribbon in a knot and adhere to left side of pouch.

FREE Chipboard Letters!

Do you enjoy using chipboard letters, but hate that you never seem to have enough of the letters you need?  Do you, your hubby, best friend, mother, father, or anyone else work in an office?  How would you like to be able to have FREE chipboard letters?  Guess what you can!  (that is assuming that you have joined the gang and purchased your Big Shot and the Serif Essentials Alphabet dies)

For quite some time, I have bringing home the "empty" legal pads that I find in the recycle bin at work (at a law office, you can image how many of these pads we go through regularly?!) knowing that I could do something with the chipboard backing.  Well, tonight I decided to work on a project that I wanted to use chipboard letters for, but I didn't have enough "E"s from my stash of chipboard letters.  Then I remember all those empty legal pads, pulled one out, cut it into strips and used my Big Shot to make all of the letters I needed!  And the best part was that I have enough of each letter, without needed to buy another package of chipboard letters... in essence for this project I have FREE chipboard letters!

 

To finish these off for my project I will be covering them with Whisper White craft ink and the white glitter from Chunky Essentials (though there is a possibility that I will use Rose Red craft ink and the red glitter from this same stack), then adding them to my project.  Be sure to check back later this week to see the finished project.

Instructions

1. Punch scalloped edge in strip of Candy Lane Designer Series paper using Scallop Edge punch. Adhere to Riding Hood Red card.
2. To create center piece, adhere Candy Lane Designer Series paper to Close to Cocoa card stock. Adhere Chocolate Chip 5/8 grosgrain ribbon around right edge of card stock. Adhere to card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
3. Stamp hearts image in Close to Cocoa, Pink Pirouette, and Riding Hood Red ink on Very Vanilla card stock and punch out using Heart to Heart punch. Adhere hearts to card, using Stampin' Dimensionals on Pink Pirouette hearts. 
4. Stamp Love image in Close to Cocoa ink on Kraft card stock. Round one corner using 3/16" Corner Rounder punch. Adhere to card using Stampin' Dimensionals. 
5. Thread Riding Hood Red button with white thread and adhere to card.

Nearly No-Sew Banner

Every year for Christmas, we need inexpensive gifts ($5-$10) for our nieces and nephews.  I hate to buy something in this price range because you usually end up getting something that is broken within a week or so of Christmas.  This year, I decided to make name banners for my nieces that they could hang up in their rooms.  They were relatively inexpensive (I watched for the sales at Joann's), easy to make, and were a big hit on Christmas Day.

I made a total of 3 banners, so I purchased 1 yd of pink felt, and 1/2 yd each of 6 different pastel cotton solids and prints.  So that I didn't need to sew them together, I purchased several yards of Wonderunder, a double-sided iron-on material that essentially "glues" the fabric pieces together.

In addition to the fabric, I used twill tape to string the pennants together, and white thread to sew the pennants to the twill tape (Note: this was the only sewing done, and could probably be eliminated by using Wonderunder to attach the pennants to the tape).

To create the actual pennants, I used the Pennant Bigz die (exclusive from Stampin' Up!) the Simple Serif Alphabet Bigz dies and my Big Shot machine.

For each pennant, I first cut out a large pennant from the pink felt.  Next, before cutting, I ironed the Wonderunder onto the printed fabric, the cut another large pennant from the printed fabric.  After the printed fabric was cut, I used a rotary cutter and my ruler to cut off the scalloped edge of the printed fabric.  Then, the backing of the Wonderunder was peeled off and the printed fabric was ironed onto the felt scalloped pennant. 

Then, again applying the Wonderunder before cutting, I cut the letters needed to spell the name of each niece.  This was then again ironed onto the printed fabric of the pennant.

Finally, I arranged the pennants to spell out each name and using the twill tape, strung the individual pennants together.  Because I wanted to make sure these held up to any abuse the young ladies might dish out, instead of using Wonderunder to "seal" the pennants to the twill tape, I had my mother sew a simple straight stitch across the top of the pennants.

I wish I had taken pictures of each step, but alas, I left these to the last minute and simply didn't have time.  I am, however, thinking about making another one for me, for Valentines Day, so hopefully I'll remember to take some step-by-step pictures to share with you.  On the other hand, if you have any questions about how I made these, feel free to drop me an email and I'll try to give a bit clearly answers to your questions.
